A "Super" Celebration for July Fourth That Lasts All Month!

We’re rockin’ rockets and rocks this month for the Tulare County Library Branches children’s crafts! 

The crafts for each week are:

June 30 through July 3 – Fourth of July Rockets
July 7 through 11 – Super Hero Masks
July 14 through 18 – Tootsie Pop Hero
July 21 through 25 – Super Hero Rocks
July 28 through August 1 – Super Hero Bracelets

The crafts are offered at the Alpaugh, Earlimart, Exeter, Ivanhoe, Lindsay, Orosi, Springville, Strathmore, Three Rivers, Tipton and Woodlake branch libraries.

All Library Locations Closed Saturday, July 4


All Tulare County Library locations will be closed on Saturday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. There will be no free lunches for kids and teens at the Visalia Branch Library on Friday, July 3.
 
All locations resume regular hours beginning Tuesday, July 7.

Friends of the Library-Exeter Quilt Raffle

The Friends of the Library-Exeter are raffling a red, white, and blue quilt at the Exeter Branch Library. Tickets are being sold at the Exeter Branch Library. The prices are $1 for 1 ticket and $5 for 6 tickets. Be sure to drop by the Exeter Branch Library to see the Stars in the Garden Quilt.

First Tuesday Book Club, July 7

For July, we'll be reading You Know When The Men Are Gone by Siobhan Fallon.

Summary: 
A collection of interconnected stories relate the experiences of Fort Hood military wives who share a poignant vigil during which they raise children while waiting for their husbands to return.

We will be meeting in the Visalia Branch Blue Room to discuss this book on July 7 from 6:30pm - 7:45pm.

Cool Off From the Hot Summer Days to Learn Computer Skills


During the summer there is no better time to work on computer skills and there's no cooler place than the Tulare County Library! At our Visalia Branch the staff in our computer lab assists true beginners with one-on-one personal appointments and specialized classes. This includes mouse basics, computer tutorials, and the parts of a computer.

Looking for a job? One-on-one personal assistance is available for resume writing and job searching. Gather information on past jobs, education, and other experience to bring with you to the appointment.
Then you are ready to start work on your resume. During the session, staff demonstrates the benefits of the Internet for searching for current jobs through local and state sites job listings.

Classes also are offered on Thursdays on such subjects as the Internet, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Basic keyboarding and mouse skills are required for these sessions.

June 11 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm - Internet 101: An introduction to the Internet that includes Windows, Explorer and other browser basic features, as well as searching and site evaluation.

June 18 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm - Word Processing for Beginners: An introduction to Microsoft Word that covers opening and saving documents, typing and modifying text, and basic formatting.

June 25 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm or 6:00 pm-8:00 pm - Introduction to
Excel: A basic introduction to Microsoft Excel that covers using spreadsheets, including the toolbars, worksheets, and formulas.
