The Tulare County Library Literacy Center will have a Yard Sale fund raiser on May 1 from 6 am until 11 am. The sale will feature all types of items from jewelry to furniture. Proceeds will go to buy books and materials for the READ TO SUCCEED Adult Literacy program, so buyers earn THANKS FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE with their support as well as some great purchases! The READ TO SUCCEED program is a free service offering a variety of functional literacy services to all Tulare county adults. The Center is located at 417 N. Locust Street in Visalia and the sale will be held in the front yard.
The next Mystery Readers meeting will be held on April 21st at 6:30 PM in the Visalia Library's upstairs meeting room. For this month's meeting, read any History Mystery (about WWI or WWII).
The next ELF club will be held on May 7, 2010. We will be reading I Went Walking written by Sue Williams and illustrated by Julie Vivas.
The Board of Supervisors announced Adult Literacy Day for Tulare County and congratulated Literacy Advocate Heather Freitas in its meeting today.
