Socrates Cafe, April 12
Every second Tuesday of every month, the Visalia library will be hosting a Socrates Cafe* at 6:30pm in the library's "blue" meeting room. This month we will be discussing Procrastination: Is it an inner subconscious fear to accomplish and be successful? Or is it just pure laziness? Please join us for this free and fun event! Meet Local Author, Ernest J. Finney, April 9th
Join us at the Visalia library on April 9th for an evening with award-winning local author, Ernest J. Finney. Finney's short fiction has received a number of awards, among them an O' Henry Award for "Peacocks." His two story-collections, Birds Landing and Flights in the Heavenlies, won California Book Awards. His newest book is Sequoia Gardens: California Stories.
This free event begins at 7:00 pm at the Tulare County Library, located at 200 W. Oak Ave., in Visalia.

Friends of the Library Literary Basket Drawing, April 9
The Friends’ Literary Baskets are back, and we have some fantastic choices for you this year. Tickets are just $1.00 each. To enter the drawing, simply fill out your tickets, be sure to mark which basket number you wish to win, and return the tickets with your check (made out to "Friends of the Library"), to the Visalia Library by April 1st.
The drawing will be held Saturday evening, April 9th, at a free Friends of the Library event. You do not have to be present to win.
