Tulare County Library "Getting to Know" Series to Resume

District Attorney Tim Ward will be the featured speaker on August 28 at 6:30 pm at the Visalia Branch of the Tulare County Library. Mr. Ward will talk about his career as district attorney for Tulare County and will answer questions afterwards.

Mr. Ward joined the District Attorney*s office in 1999 as a Deputy
District Attorney. In 2005, he was promoted to Supervising Deputy
District Attorney and to Assistant District Attorney in April 2011. In
October, 2012, Tim Ward was appointed by the Board of Supervisors to the position of District Attorney, effective Dec. 15, 2012.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, California. He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. After completing an Army ROTC scholarship, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1989 and served at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. In 1992, Tim was promoted to the rank of Captain and later received an honorable discharge.
 
In addition to the career opportunity as a prosecutor with Tulare
County, Tim was drawn to this region of the Sierras because he can
pursue his hobby of whitewater kayaking. After moving to Tulare County, he met his wife, Devon, a native Visalian. The Wards have been married for seven years and are the parents of a daughter.

District Attorney Ward will speak in the Blue Room of the Visalia
branch. This program is free to the public and all are welcome to
attend.
