Want to Know About Medicare?

The Tulare County Library will present a program, "Getting to Know Medicare 101: Understanding the Medicare Maze," on Thursday, October 23 at 6:30 pm at the Visalia Branch Library.
The program will be hosted by HICAP representatives and topics to be covered include:

*What is the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP);
*What HICAP does and doesn't do;
*Who does HICAP serve and where does the program provide services, and
*How does HICAP advocate and assist clients.

The presenters will also review current coverage, costs and benefits, enrollment rights and periods.  Information on understanding the ABCD's of Medicare, how billing issues can be resolved and the appeals and grievance process will be given.  In addition, reviews and comparisons of Medicare Parts C and D will be outlined.  HICAP, Medicare counselors, are NOT insurance agents and/or brokers.

If you are approaching your retirement year, or are already there and are confused about Medicare, this program can help with your decisions.

It is free, and no registration is required.
