During the summer there is no better time to work on computer skills and there's no cooler place than the Tulare County Library! At our Visalia Branch the staff in our computer lab assists true beginners with one-on-one personal appointments and specialized classes. This includes mouse basics, computer tutorials, and the parts of a computer.
Looking for a job? One-on-one personal assistance is
available for resume writing and job searching. Gather information on past
jobs, education, and other experience to bring with you to the appointment.
Then you are ready to start work on your resume. During
the session, staff demonstrates the benefits of the Internet for searching for
current jobs through local and state sites job listings.
Classes also are offered on Thursdays on such subjects as
the Internet, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Basic keyboarding and mouse
skills are required for these sessions.

June 11 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm - Internet 101: An
introduction to the Internet that includes Windows, Explorer and other browser
basic features, as well as searching and site evaluation.
June 18 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm - Word Processing for
Beginners: An introduction to Microsoft Word that covers opening and saving
documents, typing and modifying text, and basic formatting.
June 25 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm or 6:00 pm-8:00 pm -
Introduction to
Excel: A basic introduction to Microsoft Excel that
covers using spreadsheets, including the toolbars, worksheets, and formulas.
All sessions are held in the Public Computer Lab of the
