Gary Soto, Thu 9/7 at 4pm, Visalia Library
With more than forty books for children, young adults and adults, Gary Soto joins us to talk about his new book Meatballs for the People: Proverbs to Chew On.
The author of “Oranges,” the most anthologized poem in contemporary literature, Soto was awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts (twice). His New and Selected Poems placed as a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Award. His books have sold four million copies nationwide and have been translated into many languages.
Soto grew up in the Central Valley and is a graduate of Cal State Fresno. He now lives in Berkeley, California.
