Board of Supervisors Proclaims Adult Literacy Day

Tulare County Library proudly celebrates its 9th year serving adult learners in the READ TO SUCCEED Adult Literacy Program. For the ninth time, the Tulare County Board of Supervisors proclaimed ADULT LITERACY DAY, always the first Tuesday of April. Over 25 volunteer tutors and learners, as well as program supporters and program partners from Health and Human Services and Tulare County Sheriff's Department, attended the Board meeting to take part in the Proclamation and Celebration.

READ TO SUCCEED serves adult learners throughout Tulare County, assisting learners in meeting their literacy goals, getting GED’s, helping with job applications and other functional literacy issues. Three READ TO SUCCEED customers spoke about their experiences working with tutors at the Literacy Center, and Vicki Setzer represented the tutors, stating that every day is a day to celebrate success at the Literacy Center.
