Rock ‘N’ Roll Era Is Coming to the Literacy Center

Stroll on down to the Tulare County Library on September 25 for an Oldies Dance and a nostalgic visit to the fifties and sixties, sponsored by the library Literacy Center. The fundraiser will feature a Classic Car show, old time munchies and prizes, and the original rock and roll songs that made the era great. In addition, there will be Twist and Hula Hoop contests at the dance, and a Trivia contest is available now on the Literacy page of the library website at www.tularecountylibrary.org.

The dance will be held from 6 to 9 pm at the Tulare County Library, 200 W. Oak Street, Visalia, CA. The Classic Car Show will be open from 5:30 to 7 pm. and will feature 25 cars from the fifties and sixties shown by Classic Dreams and other local car clubs. Music will be provided by Dave Luna and Angie Monroe from KABX 97.5 in Merced.

Some of the sponsors include the Tulare County Library, Board of Supervisors District 3 Supervisor Phil Cox, Jail and Prison Ministries and other community organizations.

Tickets are $15 for a single and $25 a couple and may be purchased prior to the dance at The Literacy Center, 417 N. Locust Street, Visalia, or at the door on September 25. All proceeds support the READ TO SUCCEED Literacy Program.
