If you have fond memories of Spam, Cheez Whiz, Elvis and juke boxes, the Literacy Center ’s Oldies Dance is the place to be on September 25.The genuine oldies will be played by Dave Luna and Angie Monroe of KABX 97.5 and will include a Twist contest and an evening ending Stroll. There will also be Hula Hoop and Trivia contests and Fifties snacks and prizes.
The dance will be held from 6 to 9 pm at the Tulare County Library, 200 W. Oak Street , Visalia , CA . A Classic Car Show will be open from 5:30 to 7 pm and will feature 25 cars from the fifties and sixties shown by Classic Dreams and other local car club.
Tickets are $15 for a single and $25 a couple and may be purchased prior to the dance at The Literacy Center, 417 N. Locust Street , Visalia , or at the door on September 25. All proceeds support the Read To Succeed Literacy Program.
Sponsors include the Tulare County Library, Board of Supervisors District 3 Supervisor Phil Cox, Target Greatlands store, Jail and Prison Ministries and other community organizations.
