Ever wanted to write the Great American Novel? What’s keeping you from your dream?
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) begins at 12:01 am November 1st, 2011. NaNoWriMo began in 1999 and encourages people to complete a 50,000 word novel in just thirty days. Several books that were begun during NaNoWriMo have been published and include
Water for Elephants and
Flying Changes by Sara Gruen,
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, and
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
The
Visalia Branch of the
Tulare County Library we will be hosting several NaNoWriMo events in the library’s Blue Room. Events scheduled:
- November 1, 2 pm-6 pm
- November 5, 9:30 am-4:30 pm
- November 9, 12 noon to 7 pm
- November 17, 10 am-3 pm
- November 19, 9:30 am-4:30 pm
- November 22, 3 pm-7:30 pm
- November 30, 3 pm-7:30 pm
Just bring your pens or pencils and paper or a laptop and we will supply the tables, chairs, power source for the laptops and coffee with snacks.
