Money & Sense Programs at Visalia Branch Library, April - June

Starting in April, we will be having a series of Workshops and a Book Club on, well, Money and Sense. Both the Workshops and the Book Club are, of course, free and no RSVP is necessary.

The Workshops are a basic financial literacy program developed by the University of California Co-Op and funded by a LSTA and California State Library Grant. This information would be beneficial to anyone trying to live on a budget and will help them plan for the future. The materials will also be available in Spanish.

April 30, 6:00:     Budgeting Basics
May 7, 6:00:        Paying Bills on Time
May 14, 6:00:     When You Can't Pay Cash
May 21, 6:00:     Saving Money on Food / Food Advertising

The Book Club meets once a month in April, May, and June.The first book looks at the working poor in the U.S. while the other two are more about personal money choices.

Patrons can go to the Reference Desk and sign out the next month’s book starting several weeks before the actual meeting.
