Students will
learn the terminology of weaving and begin a simple project. While the time is
not sufficient to complete the project at the library, participants will be
able to do so at home since the weavers will be keeping their small looms.
Handweavers of the
Valley: Established in 1953, Handweavers of the Valley is comprised of approximately
100 members from Central San Joaquin Valley communities with membership extending
as far north as Reedley and Squaw Valley and south to Delano and Bakersfield.
All members share a common interest in the continuing creative textile process:
weaving, spinning, felting, and gourd art.
