Tulare
County Library and the Annie R. Mitchell History Room remembers and honors the
centennial of the end of World War I, also known as Armistice Day, with a
historic photo exhibit from November 6 through November 30 at the Visalia
Branch Library. The exhibit “Honor and Valor” features curated historic photos
from the Annie R. Mitchell History Room, many from the George W. Stewart
collection and feature Tulare County residents who were drafted to fight in the
war. Interspersed with the photos are quotations about World War I from authors
such as George Santayana and John McCrae, providing context to the war’s effect
on this nation and county. Find the exhibit on the first floor of the Visalia
Branch across from the Friends of the Library books for sale.
