Rock Painting, Fri 2/2 4 pm, Visalia LIbrary

Please join us on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm for the newest craze – Rock Painting. Rocks and paint provided by the Tulare County Library and The Friends of the Tulare County Library! Your creativity is all that you need to bring, unless you have your own favorite colors or materials.

How can we help keep our air clean? Do you have ideas? Please share them!!

TCAG is hosting an art contest with a chance to win a bike & helmet!! Please use an 8 1/2 X 11 inch sheet of paper to create your poster showing your idea on how to keep our air clean. Place your name, grade, and phone number on the back of your art.

Entries can be mailed to 210 N. Church Street, Suite B or dropped off at any branch of the Tulare County Library. Entries are due November 13, 2015.

Winners will be awarded a bike and helmet at TCAG's December 7th board meeting!!

Prizes awarded to the following grades:
Kindergarten - Grade 1
Grades 2 - 3
Grades 4 - 5
Grades 6 - 8
Grades 9 - 12

Tulare County Library to Host Urban Art Kick Off Reception

A library tour of urban art pieces will begin with a reception on Wednesday, January 14, at the Visalia branch of the Tulare County Library.

 The works will be on display at the Visalia branch through January 21 and then will be featured at the Dinuba branch from January 21-28.  Following the Dinuba exhibit they will go to the county branch libraries in Woodlake, Exeter, Lindsay, Strathmore, Earlimart, and Pixley, as well as Porterville and Tulare city libraries.  The traveling show will finish up at Tulare County Government Plaza from April 8-15.

 

 The art consists of pieces created by California artists inspired by the Pro Youth HEART mission of reducing youth violence by giving children hope, opportunities and a safe place to be after school.  The Visalia library is located at 200 West Oak Street in Visalia.

Pictographs Program at Three Rivers Branch, June 26

  Manuel Andrade, local resident and expert on Native American pictographs in Tulare County will give a talk on the pictographs of Rocky Hill, Exeter. He will show a video and bring rock samples and pigments. Shirley Keller, a local artist and specialist in primitive art, will display her art photos of the pictographs.
