"Getting to Know..." Series Presents Visalia Police Department Lieutenant Steven Phillips, May 22

Steven Phillips, Visalia Police Department Lieutenant, will be the focus of this month's “Getting to Know…” series in the Blue Room of the Visalia Library on May 22, 2014 at 6:30 pm:

"I was born and raised in the city of Visalia and graduated from Redwood High School as well as College of Sequoias. I began my law-enforcement career in 1991 with the City of Porterville where I served for five years. I was hired by the Visalia Police Department in 1996. At the Visalia Police Department I have served at the rank of agent sergeant and lieutenant. I'm currently the night watch commander with the police department. I have also served as a detective, K9 Officer, and Bomb Squad member. Currently I am the bomb squad commander for the Tulare County consolidated bomb squad which is made up of members of the Visalia Police Department and the Tulare County Sheriff's Department."
 
The "Getting to Know" programs sponsored by the Tulare County Library are designed to offer county residents an introduction to and information about people, issues, and organizations in the Central Valley. Programs are being held the fourth Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Visalia Branch Library throughout the spring.
