Suburbicon (Film Series), Tue 7/27 6 pm, Visalia Library
Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns... the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town's dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon. www.imdb.com

1st Tuesday Book Club, Tue 2/6 at 6:30 pm, Visalia Library
The First Tuesday Book Club will be reading "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry" on Tue 2/6 at 6:30.
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is
seventy-seven years old and crazy—as in standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-strangers
crazy. She is also Elsa’s best and only friend. When Elsa’s grandmother dies
and leaves behind a series of letters apologizing to people she has wronged,
Elsa’s greatest adventure begins.
“My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry” is told
with the same comic accuracy and beating heart as Fredrik Backman’s bestselling
debut novel, A Man Called Ove. It is a story about life, death, and one of the
most important human rights: the right to be different.
